Founded by Edwin Pimentel Quispe, whose story began in the Andean community of Parobamba, our company was built with a clear purpose: to offer refined private travel experiences while helping local people participate more meaningfully in the benefits of tourism.

Built from the Andes, Guided by Experience
Peru Private Tours was founded by Edwin Pimentel, a local tourism professional whose story began far from the traditional centers of the travel industry.
Edwin was born and raised in Parobamba, a small Andean community located about four hours from Cusco. Growing up close to the landscapes, traditions, and people of the Andes gave him a deep understanding of Peru long before tourism became his profession.
He became part of one of the first generations from his community to pursue a professional path in tourism. His journey began on the trails, where he gained firsthand experience in trekking and guiding across some of Peru’s most iconic routes and destinations, including the Inca Trail, Salkantay, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu.
Through those years, Edwin saw both the beauty of tourism and one of its greatest challenges: many local communities live near the places travelers come to admire, yet they often receive only a small part of tourism’s benefits.
That realization became one of the reasons Peru Private Tours was created.
From the beginning, Edwin wanted to build a private Peru travel company that could offer seamless, high-quality journeys for international travelers while also creating meaningful connections between visitors and local people.

One of the clearest expressions of our mission is our connection with artisans from Parobamba and nearby Andean communities.
These relationships helped inspire experiences such as our Textile Workshop Experience in the Sacred Valley, where travelers can learn about Andean weaving, natural dyes, traditional techniques, and the cultural meaning behind the textiles directly from local artisans.
For us, this is not a staged encounter. It is part of a larger purpose: to help tourism create real opportunities for local families and communities that have historically been left outside the main benefits of the travel industry.
