Question 1

Is 18 days enough to see Peru?

Accepted Answer

Eighteen days allows a rewarding combination of Lima, the Amazon, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyon and Arequipa. Peru is much larger, but this itinerary offers a varied and thoughtfully connected introduction.

Question 2

Is this an entirely private Peru tour?

Accepted Answer

Most land sightseeing and transfers are planned privately. Flights, train services, lodge-guided excursions and some Lake Titicaca activities may be shared unless a private version is specifically confirmed in your proposal.

Question 3

Does this tour include the Short Inca Trail?

Accepted Answer

This itinerary includes the 2-day Short Inca Trail experience, with a full hiking day and Machu Picchu visit on the following day. Access requires authorized permits and suitable physical readiness.

Question 4

Can we visit Machu Picchu without hiking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can replace the Short Inca Trail with a train journey and design a guided Machu Picchu visit based on the best available ticket and route for your dates.

Question 5

How strenuous is the Short Inca Trail?

Accepted Answer

It is a substantial day of hiking, with uneven stone paths and steps at elevation. Appropriate fitness, footwear, weather preparation and assessment of individual needs are essential.

Question 6

What happens if the Short Inca Trail permit is unavailable?

Accepted Answer

We will discuss authorized alternatives, which can include a scenic train journey and a Machu Picchu entrance arrangement. No substitute is identical to the trail experience.

Question 7

Can we take the Titicaca train from Cusco to Puno?

Accepted Answer

Possibly. The train runs on selected days each week and is subject to schedule and seat availability. The Route of the Sun is an alternative, and the final mode will be agreed when the travel dates are fixed.

Question 8

What happens if our international flight leaves early on Day 18?

Accepted Answer

We recommend flying from Arequipa to Lima on Day 17 in the evening and spending the night at a hotel near Lima Airport before the international departure.

Question 9

Are domestic flights included?

Accepted Answer

Domestic flights are arranged or quoted as specified in your personalized proposal. They should not be assumed included without explicit confirmation.

Question 10

Are luxury hotels available throughout the itinerary?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can recommend and request luxury upgrades in several destinations, depending on operational availability, room category, dates and your preferences.

Question 11

Can we customize the Amazon lodge excursions?

Accepted Answer

Most Amazon lodge activities can be selected with the lodge team within the operator’s options, subject to weather, guides and availability. Private guiding may require an upgrade.

Question 12

What is the best month for this itinerary?

Accepted Answer

Many travelers prefer the drier Andean months from May to September for the Short Inca Trail. April and October can also be attractive, but the Amazon has its own weather patterns and no season guarantees perfect conditions.

Question 13

Can families take this 18-day tour?

Accepted Answer

Yes, especially families with older children or teenagers interested in nature and culture. We should assess the Short Inca Trail, high-altitude sections, room requirements and driving days individually.

Question 14

Can seniors travel on this itinerary?

Accepted Answer

Yes, depending on mobility, medical considerations and preferred pace. Private transfers and gentler alternatives are available, but the Short Inca Trail requires a separate suitability decision.

Question 15

Does this tour include Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The planned journey includes Uros and Taquile on Lake Titicaca, a scenic trip toward Colca Canyon, viewpoints, and onward travel to Arequipa.
