Today, the trek descends from the high mountains into the upper jungle, revealing a dramatic change in landscapes. After breakfast at Wayracmachay, you hike downhill for about four hours through cloud forest, following the Salkantay River to Collpapampa (2,900 m). Along the way, you enjoy waterfalls, lush vegetation, and warmer air.

Then, after a well-earned lunch, private transport takes you through the scenic Santa Teresa Valley, surrounded by fruit plantations and waterfalls. Optionally, you can stop at the Santa Teresa hot springs to relax tired muscles. Finally, you continue to Lucmabamba (2,000 m), where you camp in the coffee-growing zone and enjoy dinner surrounded by jungle scenery.

Then, you descend for several hours toward Hidroelectrica, accompanied by waterfalls and views of the Urubamba River.
